Preservation Award
The LABF presents this award each fall in New York to an individual or organization for extraordinary contributions to the preservation of media history.
2025: David Portnoy
ABC News Radio National Correspondent Steven Portnoy (c) received the 2025 LABF Excellence in Broadcast Preservation Award for his outstanding dedication and commitment to promoting awareness to the importance of collection and preservation of broadcast history.He is flanked here by LABF Co-Chairs Jack Goodman and Heidi Raphael.
2024: Hearst Television
Hearst was recognized for digitizing the news archives of all of its news-producing stations. Michael J. Hayes, president of Hearst Television (second from left), accepted the award on behalf of the station group at the Giants luncheon. 2023: David Gleason
Gleason was honored for his extensive online library of broadcast-related publications, worldradiohistory.com. He received his award at NAB New York from LABF Co-Chair Heidi Raphael.
